The Wild

It was a lonely sight, you stepped away from me. A cigarette in your hand, lit by sympathy.
You said it’s not the same, your feelings had changed. You tipped your hat and called it at day.
And Mr. wanderlust, the rabbit covered in dust, barely made it to his meeting in one piece.
“Her name was Alice” he said, with a tone of regret. “I gave her love and she ran away with it”.
Take me high, I wanna go where the angels and magpies fly.
And to the rivers and snowy mounts, it’s in the wild I’ll live my last days out.
If it’s all the same to you, yeah it’s all the same to you. You know it’s same to me, I’ll go alone.
I set up camp to stop and stare. My telescope pointed like a rifle in the air.
I could only hope that kaleidoscopes are the key to the speed of light.
Take me high, I wanna go where the angels and magpies fly.
And to the rivers and snowy mounts, it’s in the wild I’ll live my last days out.
If it’s all the same to you, yeah it’s all the same to you. You know it’s same to me, I’ll go back home.
The hatter asked the man with one eye made of glass how Alice managed to escape with his heart.
The Rabbit spoke, with a lump inside his throat “sometimes your only road is a giant leap of faith.”
Take me high, I wanna go where the angels and magpies fly.
And to the rivers and snowy mounts, it’s in the wild we’ll live our last days out.
If it’s all the same to you, yeah it’s all the same to you. You know it’s same to me, we’ll go home.
If it’s all the same to you, yeah it’s all the same to you. You know it’s same to me, we’ll go home.

Say Anything

Babe you can’t dig me out of this hole, I made it extra deep and oh so cold.
You try to look at me, your eyes are awful stoned. I’m but a memory etched in stone.
You keep on ringing, my phone is almost closed. We’re running out of juice, I’m a-switching off.
I hear you singing ‘we’re like Lloyd and Dianne’ you hope to hear me say anything at all.
I keep on walking yet I can barely stand
and now I pray to a God for permission to land.
I ain’t a woman, I ain’t a man,
I’m a human being doing the best I can.
You call my mother and say I’m oh so bad, She tells you not the bother, I’m the best you had.
But I am still but a piece to you, check mate connect four it’s all the same to you.
I lay on the ground making angels in sand
Hoping the lord above falls for my jest.
But he is silent, and I’m all alone
and I got no change for the next train home.
I start-a walking yet I can barely stand
and now I pray to a God for permission to land.
I ain’t a woman, I ain’t a man,
I’m a human being doing the best I can.

Two for the Road

Oh you step in the plane and celebrate,
you’re movin’ to L.A what a sunny day
but lord it hurts, I walk in the dirt as you fly by.
I worked down the road in a barber shop,
the razors edge well it kills those locks.
I shaved your name, and Billys mum got a refund.
She’s a movie star and a killer Queen,
I read all her quotes in magazines.
I’m filled with regret, I’ll never forget I left her.
I’m so lonesome oh lord oh lord.
I’m so lonesome oh lord.
I’m so lonesome you see,
nobodies helping me.
I’m so lonesome oh lord.
Hepburn eyes and Pfeiffer locks,
Monroe smile, oh my heart then stops.
When I hear your voice, the sound of rejoice leaves my tongue.
She’s the woman that I love the most,
more than holy spirit or Jesus’ ghost
coz nothings more real than the pain I feel when I see her.
I’m so lonesome oh lord oh lord.
I’m so lonesome oh lord.
I’m so lonesome you see,
nobodies helping me.
I’m so lonesome oh lord.
I’m so lonesome oh lord oh lord.
I’m so lonesome oh lord.
I’m so lonesome you see,
not a souls helping me.
I’m so lonesome oh lord.
Now she’s nothing but a memory,
a thought I know will someday cease coz
I booked in a shrink at Lacuna Inc now I’ll dream on…
I’m so lonesome oh lord oh lord.
I’m so lonesome oh lord.
I’m so lonesome you see,
nobodies helping me.
I’m so lonesome oh lord.
I’m so lonesome oh lord oh lord.
I’m so lonesome oh lord.
I’m so lonesome you see,
not a souls helping me.
I’m so lonesome oh lord.
