lyrics

There’s was a man waiting for the bus, A trip forty miles away from the Coast.

It was the barrens of sand and scent in the air that take mind from the lover that was.

She was a doe eyed, savvy young girl and for too long to count she was his world.

But her fathers will of a princess instilled, the poor boy was left in the dusk.

She’d look out her window at night, the poor boy would wait in rain or shine.

She would raise the blinds and scream for his life; plead to save himself and go.

The man sat down in a rush, in one hand a lighter, the other a note

written ‘Hear my soul speak my love is for thee. I’ll think of you till the end of my days.’
